Green Olive Pizza with Ricotta CheesePizza

Have fun making homemade pizzas for a simple dinner or party favorite finger food.  You can find prebaked crusts at most grocery stores and some even sell fresh dough that you can roll yourself.  If you are feeling adventurous, mix you own with this simple method courtesy of Crazy for Crust…www.crazyforcrust.com/2017/01/the-ultimate-pizza-crust-recipe/ They even have you covered for whole wheat or gluten-free options too!

Tip: For a fresh made dough crust, be sure to first dust your baking sheet or pizza stone with a sprinkling of cornmeal to prevent sticking.

Oven Method: Once your crust is ready, drizzle a small amount of olive oil on the top and spread thin.  Next, use a few scoops of Pasta’s Too’s Original Tomato Sauce or Pasta Too Pizza Sauce and spread it evenly, within one inch of the crust’s edge. Topping are your choice!  For this particular pizza we added strips of salami, Italian green olives (Castlevetrano are a meaty and delicious choice) and even some crumbled bacon.  Prior to hitting the grill or oven we topped it with some shredded mozzarella and generous dollops of fresh ricotta cheese. Yum.

Prebaked or fresh crusts do best in a 425 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or until crust is browned.

Grill Method: Freshly made pizza dough intended for the grill should be rolled out after resting and first grilled on both sides until lightly browned. Your toppings – sauce and all – will be added last. Close the warm grill for 2-4 minutes to let the cheese melt and for flavors to develop. Enjoy!
